The sound of the whistling wind carried the small fragments of sand through the air. It sprinkled across the dunes of sand present near the gates of the Sand Village. There were trees that were dried and dead as well as minor mounds and cliffs in the area. The sound of the Sand Village gates creaking opened and sand pouring from the gate tops as they hit the ground during the paring of the gates letting the sand’s crashing into the ground seem like a waterfall’s shower.
As the clouds of sand poured from the gates coveting the hidden figure, the sand ninja at the gate turned and looked at the emerging presence in surprise. His clothing was a large cloak of burgundy coming over his dark shirt and pants combination. His back strapped with his gourd as it was labeled with worn markings telling an origin that it and it’s owner bared. His red feathery hair came into view as Gaara’s image shocked the patrolling shinobi at the gate as they looked towards him.
“Godaime Kazekage? Wha…what brings you here, sir?” Gaara’s eyes shifted as he didn’t turn his head. His arms crossed as he looked towards the ninja seeing his reaction was more of fear than in surprise knowing what Gaara was capable of, or maybe it was for other reasons such as them not doing their job correctly or some other reason. The raccoon eyes of Gaara faced forward as he looked to the desert area outside of the gates.
“I’m accepting a mission…I decided that today, perhaps I could perhaps lend my services to others rather than sit in the tower. Kankuro and Temari should be enough to defend the village…is that okay with you?” The Kazekage asked as his eyes shifted and peered back over to the ninja as they almost winced at his gazing sight. “Ye-Yes sir! Please proceed!” The quiet ninja proceeded beyond the village as he headed towards the mountain region that was distant from the village area.
The sand ninja seemed to be interested in work, when really this was relief. Of course he was proud to be Kazekage, but even he needed a break. He often found himself wanting to go help people himself and now this was his chance. Even the task at hand seemed more entertaining and enjoyable as he used his sand to round up the running livestock as he blocked off the paths of pigs, chickens, and cows and being as quick as to redirect and use sand to pursue the animals controlling it with his chakra given that it was with a little more power seeing he had no Tailed-Beast to help with his chakra output.
Gaara stared using his eyes and motion of his head as he tossed it to and from. The animals were soon rounded up in their proper barns and fences and Gaara turned to the client as she generously gave Gaara his pay while her hand shook a bit knowing well who he was. “Th-Thank you…” She said in a stutter. Gaara only closed his eyes letting them seem as they fallen completely black. “Thank you miss!” Gaara replied without any change of expression as he turned and walked back down the mountain path heading into the woods deciding to stray away.
This was the path that was between that and Leaf Village. He enjoyed the walk on his way letting it relax him even though it didn’t show upon his face. He only could think of seeing shinobi of the Leaf Village giving that it had been almost a long while since he had seen any of them since the Akatsuki incident. He continued with his stroll slowly taking the long way home as he felt no rush to get back to the village.
