One of weapons Naruto uses is the standard shinobi kunai. It is fairly small and not much bigger than Naruto's hand. It is completely black, with a blade in the shape of a diamond. It is wrapped with white bandages along the hilt for grip. It has a round pommel at the end of the hilt. Despite its small size, can be used to cause sever or fatal injuries. He also carries the small standard shuriken that have a hole in the middle. It is in the shape of a four-pointed star and is also completely black. These shuriken and kunai are mainly used as a distraction. Naruto also carries around a weapon scroll that Jiraiya taught him to use during the 3 year training period. Naruto has been seen using this scroll to summon fuuma shuriken, which is just a large version of a standard shuriken (Mizuki carried these on his back).

The user assumes the appearance of another person, animal, or object. This is one of the basic jutsu taught at the Konoha Ninja Academy. Fundamentally, all ninja know this jutsu.
Shunshin no Jutsu (Body Flicker Technique)
A high-speed movement technique. It is described as 'appearing with the wind and disappearing like the wind.' A very basic jutsu, it appears that most shinobi above Genin-rank know it.
Kawarimi no Jutsu (Body Replacement Technique)
This jutsu lets the user quickly switch places with another nearby object, such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach, leaving the opponent open to a counter-attack.
Bunshin no Jutsu (Clone Technique)
This technique creates a clone of the user, but it is an illusion, not a real copy like the Shadow Clone Technique. The illusions will dissipate when they come into contact with anything. The illusions can be seen through by the Byakugan and the Sharingan.
Nawanuke no Jutsu (Rope Escape Technique)
A basic technique taught at the Ninja academy, this jutsu allows a ninja to free themselves if they have been tied up.
Doton no Jutsu (Earth Release Skill)
This Jutsu allows the user to travel underground, and come back up (or pull others under) whenever he/she likes.
Jibaku Fuda: Kassei (Exploding Tag: Activate)
This allows the user to set off exploding tags from a distance with Chakra.
Kakuremino no Jutsu (Cloak of Invisibility Technique)
This jutsu allows a ninja to take a cloak or a piece of cloth and blend into an object, making them invisible.
Kinobori no Waza (Act of Tree Climbing)
Kinobori no Waza, the art of tree climbing serves a dual purpose. Taking part in Kinobori Shugyou (Tree Climbing Training) helps a ninja learn how to focus their chakra, and it also teaches them how to run up trees and walk up walls. The training helps the ninja learn how to focus just the right amount of chakra to a particular part of their body. The amount needed to climb is small but it must be precise. The feet are said to be the hardest location to learn how to master chakra focusing. So by gaining the art of this skill, the ninja will be able to have any jutsu available to him (theoretically) because she can focus chakra as needed. Next the chakra released must be properly controlled.
Suimen Hokou no Waza (Act of Water Surface Walking)
A variation on the Kinobori no Waza (Act of Tree Climbing), the art of water surface walking allows a ninja to walk on water as if it was a solid surface. Focusing an even amount of charka out of the soles of their feet, they can balance themselves on the very surface of the water.
Kage Bunshin no Justu (Shadow Clone Technique)
Similar to the Clone Technique, this jutsu creates clones of the user. Unlike the Clone Technique, these clones are actual copies, not illusions. The user's chakra is evenly distributed among every clone, giving each clone an equal fraction of the user's overall power. The clones are capable of performing jutsu on their own and can even bleed, but will usually disperse after one or two solid blows. Unlike other clones, they can't be detected by the Byakugan because the clones have the exact same amount of chakra and aren't made from any other substance, making them indistinguishable from the actual person. Sasuke Uchiha claims that the Sharingan can tell the difference during his battle with Naruto at the Valley of the End. Any experience the clones gain during their existence is transferred to the user once they are dispersed. This makes the technique ideal for spying, since the user can simply send a clone to spy on a target, then have the clone disperse itself without returning to pass the information back to the user. It's also useful for training purposes, since the total amount of experience the user gains is multiplied by the total number of clones being used to train. Using it in this manner is far more difficult, however, since a large number of clones are needed to make a significant difference in the training time. It's unclear if other types of clones possess this advantage. This technique is considered dangerous because of the manner in which the clones are created. Because the user divides their chakra among the clones, the user could potentially use up all their chakra fairly quickly if the user is low on chakra or makes too many clones, such as Naruto does with Multiple Shadow Clone Technique, this jutsu's enhanced form. Naruto is able to use this technique to the extremes that he does because of his tailed beast, the nine-tailed demon fox, which gives him an abnormally high chakra level. Tajuu Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Multiple Shadow Clone Technique)
This jutsu is basically a massive version of the Shadow Clone Technique. Instead of a few clones, it creates a few hundred clones (or a number of equal grandeur). This is considered a forbidden technique, because it can potentially be dangerous to the person performing it, seeing as how all of the clones are given an equal amount of chakra directly from the user. Naruto learned the technique from the scroll of forbidden seals written by the First Hokage and used it to save Iruka from Mizuki. The Spiraling Sphere is a technique invented by the Fourth Hokage after three years of development. It requires a very high level of chakra control. The Spiraling Sphere incorporates the chakra control learned from the tree-climbing and water-walking exercises to create a ball of concentrated, spinning chakra in the user's hand that is slightly larger than a baseball. For training purposes, teaching the technique is broken into three steps. First, the user has to learn to pop a water balloon by spinning the water inside in multiple directions with their chakra. Second, they do the same with a solid rubber ball. Since the rubber is thicker and air is completely different from water, it forces the user to rely mostly on denser chakra to break it. Bunshin Taiatari (Clone Body Blow)

Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique)
The basic form of all summoning techniques, this jutsu uses a contract, hand seals, and the user's blood to summon an animal from another dimension. As an alternative to the normal hand seals, the same contract that appears on the ground during the summoning can be drawn by hand and activated, producing the same result. The type of animal summoned is determined by the contract. The blood is used as a signature to make the contract, which can be written on a scroll or tattoo, valid. Once summoned, the animal can perform a task or help the user in battle. The summon usually is subservient to the summoner; however, the more powerful summons, such as Gamabunta and Manda, demand respect and loyalty from their summoners. Hiraishin no Jutsu (Flying Thunder God Technique)
This jutsu was created by the Fourth Hokage and the reason behind his nickname, "The Yellow Flash of Konoha". It allows the user to move over large distances with ultra-high speed. Although it is often compared with the Body Flicker Technique, the speed of this jutsu is much greater. In principal, it is similar to the Summoning Technique, but instead sends the user somewhere rather than bringing something to them. To activate this jutsu, the user needs a special seal or "jutsu formula" to mark the destination. After this is done, the user can almost instantaneously transport himself to that location. However, if the user can see the location they wish to travel at, then the formula is not required. The Fourth applied the formula in advance to weapons such as kunai. It is also possible to leave a formula in an area touched by the user. This technique is the reason Konoha came out victorious in the Iwa-Konoha Ninja War. After having his subordinates toss marked kunai randomly into the enemy ranks, the Fourth used the technique to appear within their ranks and slaughter them one by one before they could even react.
Doton: Yomi Numa (Earth Release: Swamp of the Underworld)
This jutsu turns a large area of land into a sinking swampland, making it impossible for anyone or anything in that area to move around. The size of the swamp is proportionate to the amount of chakra used to perform the technique. When performed by a drugged Jiraiya, this technique only created a large, semi-deep swamp that merely inhibited the movement of the snakes it was targeting. When performed properly, it is supposed to engulf the target completely.

The jutsu summons a giant toad in midair to crash upon a target.

This jutsu encloses the surrounding area with the esophagus of a great, fire-breathing toad from Mount Myoboku: Rock Lodging. Jiraiya can then control the stomach, causing it to expand, contract, or grow in whatever direction he wishes. In a filler arc, Jiraiya uses a variation of this jutsu when he summons an able-bodied toad's stomach to protect himself and Naruto from Kagero's Ephemeral Vengeance. Katon: Gamayu Endan (Fire Release: Toad Oil Flame Bullet)
Gamabunta spits out a large amount of oil, which is then ignited by the user. Jiraiya uses Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique to ignite the oil while Naruto uses an exploding tag since he doesn't know any fire techniques. The sheer amount of oil Gamabunta is capable of spitting allows this jutsu to reach further and cover a much larger area than any other fire jutsu.

Shunshin no Jutsu (Body Flicker Technique)
A high-speed movement technique. It is described as 'appearing with the wind and disappearing like the wind.' A very basic jutsu, it appears that most shinobi above Genin-rank know it.
Kawarimi no Jutsu (Body Replacement Technique)
This jutsu lets the user quickly switch places with another nearby object, such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach, leaving the opponent open to a counter-attack.
Bunshin no Jutsu (Clone Technique)
This technique creates a clone of the user, but it is an illusion, not a real copy like the Shadow Clone Technique. The illusions will dissipate when they come into contact with anything. The illusions can be seen through by the Byakugan and the Sharingan.
Nawanuke no Jutsu (Rope Escape Technique)
A basic technique taught at the Ninja academy, this jutsu allows a ninja to free themselves if they have been tied up.
Doton no Jutsu (Earth Release Skill)
This Jutsu allows the user to travel underground, and come back up (or pull others under) whenever he/she likes.
Jibaku Fuda: Kassei (Exploding Tag: Activate)
This allows the user to set off exploding tags from a distance with Chakra.
Kakuremino no Jutsu (Cloak of Invisibility Technique)
This jutsu allows a ninja to take a cloak or a piece of cloth and blend into an object, making them invisible.
Kinobori no Waza (Act of Tree Climbing)
Kinobori no Waza, the art of tree climbing serves a dual purpose. Taking part in Kinobori Shugyou (Tree Climbing Training) helps a ninja learn how to focus their chakra, and it also teaches them how to run up trees and walk up walls. The training helps the ninja learn how to focus just the right amount of chakra to a particular part of their body. The amount needed to climb is small but it must be precise. The feet are said to be the hardest location to learn how to master chakra focusing. So by gaining the art of this skill, the ninja will be able to have any jutsu available to him (theoretically) because she can focus chakra as needed. Next the chakra released must be properly controlled.
Suimen Hokou no Waza (Act of Water Surface Walking)
A variation on the Kinobori no Waza (Act of Tree Climbing), the art of water surface walking allows a ninja to walk on water as if it was a solid surface. Focusing an even amount of charka out of the soles of their feet, they can balance themselves on the very surface of the water.
Kage Bunshin no Justu (Shadow Clone Technique)
Similar to the Clone Technique, this jutsu creates clones of the user. Unlike the Clone Technique, these clones are actual copies, not illusions. The user's chakra is evenly distributed among every clone, giving each clone an equal fraction of the user's overall power. The clones are capable of performing jutsu on their own and can even bleed, but will usually disperse after one or two solid blows. Unlike other clones, they can't be detected by the Byakugan because the clones have the exact same amount of chakra and aren't made from any other substance, making them indistinguishable from the actual person. Sasuke Uchiha claims that the Sharingan can tell the difference during his battle with Naruto at the Valley of the End. Any experience the clones gain during their existence is transferred to the user once they are dispersed. This makes the technique ideal for spying, since the user can simply send a clone to spy on a target, then have the clone disperse itself without returning to pass the information back to the user. It's also useful for training purposes, since the total amount of experience the user gains is multiplied by the total number of clones being used to train. Using it in this manner is far more difficult, however, since a large number of clones are needed to make a significant difference in the training time. It's unclear if other types of clones possess this advantage. This technique is considered dangerous because of the manner in which the clones are created. Because the user divides their chakra among the clones, the user could potentially use up all their chakra fairly quickly if the user is low on chakra or makes too many clones, such as Naruto does with Multiple Shadow Clone Technique, this jutsu's enhanced form. Naruto is able to use this technique to the extremes that he does because of his tailed beast, the nine-tailed demon fox, which gives him an abnormally high chakra level. Even without the demon fox's chakra, Naruto can make quite a few clones, but nowhere near on the level he can when he has access to the demon fox's chakra. The technique can also be dangerous if the user is injured or has some otherwise debilitating physical condition at the time of the cloning, since all of the clones will be created in roughly the same state.
Tajuu Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Multiple Shadow Clone Technique)
This jutsu is basically a massive version of the Shadow Clone Technique. Instead of a few clones, it creates a few hundred clones (or a number of equal grandeur). This is considered a forbidden technique, because it can potentially be dangerous to the person performing it, seeing as how all of the clones are given an equal amount of chakra directly from the user. Naruto learned the technique from the scroll of forbidden seals written by the First Hokage and used it to save Iruka from Mizuki. Few people are able to use this technique effectively, due to the large amount of chakra it consumes. This weakness does not apply to Naruto due to his demon fox chakra, which allows him to create upwards of 2,000 clones while maintaining a decent supply of chakra in each one. This technique is also used by Naruto to train quickly, since all the clones share their experiences with Naruto, but it causes extreme fatigue with repeated use.
Rasengan (Spiraling Sphere)
The Spiraling Sphere is a technique invented by the Fourth Hokage after three years of development. It requires a very high level of chakra control. The Spiraling Sphere incorporates the chakra control learned from the tree-climbing and water-walking exercises to create a ball of concentrated, spinning chakra in the user's hand that is slightly larger than a baseball. For training purposes, teaching the technique is broken into three steps. First, the user has to learn to pop a water balloon by spinning the water inside in multiple directions with their chakra. Second, they do the same with a solid rubber ball. Since the rubber is thicker and air is completely different from water, it forces the user to rely mostly on denser chakra to break it. Finally, the user has to form a complete Spiraling Sphere by combining what they learned in the previous two steps. A regular balloon is often used to act as the shell. In Part II, Naruto develops an improved version known as the Great Ball Spiraling Sphere. The Spiraling Sphere requires no hand seals to perform, instead relying entirely on the chakra control of the user. Once the user creates a stable Spiraling Sphere, however, it becomes self-sustaining, so the user does not need to provide any more chakra after forming it. The force of the spinning chakra grinds into whatever it touches, causing major damage. The user can also release the spinning chakra, creating a violent explosive force at the point of contact. The one drawback of the Spiraling Sphere, if it can be considered as such, is that it requires great chakra control. Of course, this will not be a drawback if the user has learned the technique, because they already possess the necessary chakra control. It can be a problem if some force is disrupting the user's ability to mold chakra. Unlike the Chidori, there is no definite limit to the amount of times this technique can be used in a day. Because it uses far less chakra in comparison, it doesn't carry the same over-use risk as the Chidori, either. It also forms irregularly and grows as it mixes with the demon fox's chakra, giving it a purple color. Kakashi explains after the timeskip that the Spiraling Sphere is an incomplete technique, since the Fourth Hokage originally planned on combining his own nature manipulation with it. Such a feat, however, proved too difficult for both him and Kakashi. Naruto, however, is capable of doing so, albeit after much training and with two clones assisting him. Since his chakra is wind-based, his version is known as Wind Release: Spiraling Sphere.
Oodama Rasengan (Great Ball Spiraling Sphere)
This is simply a larger and more powerful version of the Spiraling Sphere, but also more unstable. Naruto needs a clone to form and control the energy. Naruto uses this jutsu to defeat Yura disguised as Itachi Uchiha by way of the Shapeshifting Technique.
Fuuton Rasengan (Wind Release: Rasengan)
This jutsu combines Naruto's wind-based chakra with the Spiraling Sphere, maintaining the stability of the previous version while increasing its power by a significant degree. During his training, Naruto was able to create a massive crater in the ground. Unlike the regular Spiraling Sphere, which requires a single clone to help form the sphere, this version requires a second clone to mix in the wind-based chakra. Unlike Naruto's Great Ball Spiraling Sphere, neither need to remain in place to maintain the technique. Despite the great damage it can currently cause, the technique is still less half complete.
Fuuton: Rasenshuriken (Wind Release: Spiralling Shuriken)
A variation on the Wind Release: Spiraling Sphere, this jutsu reshapes the wind chakra used in the technique into an enormous shuriken. The sphere in the center remains intact.
Bunshin Taiatari (Clone Body Blow)
Naruto creates numerous shadow clones to attack his enemy, which ends with Naruto diving at the target using a burst of chakra. This technique was first used with no name against Gaara when Naruto fought him during the Konoha invasion. Its name was later given in the Second Databook.
Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique)
The basic form of all summoning techniques, this jutsu uses a contract, hand seals, and the user's blood to summon an animal from another dimension. As an alternative to the normal hand seals, the same contract that appears on the ground during the summoning can be drawn by hand and activated, producing the same result. The type of animal summoned is determined by the contract. The blood is used as a signature to make the contract, which can be written on a scroll or tattoo, valid. Once summoned, the animal can perform a task or help the user in battle. The summon usually is subservient to the summoner; however, the more powerful summons, such as Gamabunta and Manda, demand respect and loyalty from their summoners. Manda even demands hundreds of live human sacrifices.
Hiraishin no Jutsu (Flying Thunder God Technique)
This jutsu was created by the Fourth Hokage and the reason behind his nickname, "The Yellow Flash of Konoha". It allows the user to move over large distances with ultra-high speed. Although it is often compared with the Body Flicker Technique, the speed of this jutsu is much greater. In principal, it is similar to the Summoning Technique, but instead sends the user somewhere rather than bringing something to them. To activate this jutsu, the user needs a special seal or "jutsu formula" to mark the destination. After this is done, the user can almost instantaneously transport himself to that location. However, if the user can see the location they wish to travel at, then the formula is not required. The Fourth applied the formula in advance to weapons such as kunai. It is also possible to leave a formula in an area touched by the user. This technique is the reason Konoha came out victorious in the Iwa-Konoha Ninja War. After having his subordinates toss marked kunai randomly into the enemy ranks, the Fourth used the technique to appear within their ranks and slaughter them one by one before they could even react.
Doton: Yomi Numa (Earth Release: Swamp of the Underworld)
This jutsu turns a large area of land into a sinking swampland, making it impossible for anyone or anything in that area to move around. The size of the swamp is proportionate to the amount of chakra used to perform the technique. When performed by a drugged Jiraiya, this technique only created a large, semi-deep swamp that merely inhibited the movement of the snakes it was targeting. When performed properly, it is supposed to engulf the target completely.
Kuchiyose: Yatai Kuzushi no Jutsu (Summoning: Food Cart Destroyer Technique)
The jutsu summons a giant toad in midair to crash upon a target.
Kuchiyose: Gamaguchi Shibari (Summoning: Toad Mouth Bind)
This jutsu encloses the surrounding area with the esophagus of a great, fire-breathing toad from Mount Myoboku: Rock Lodging. Jiraiya can then control the stomach, causing it to expand, contract, or grow in whatever direction he wishes. In a filler arc, Jiraiya uses a variation of this jutsu when he summons an able-bodied toad's stomach to protect himself and Naruto from Kagero's Ephemeral Vengeance. When first used, Jiraiya claimed that no one had ever escaped from this jutsu. Itachi Uchiha and Kisame Hoshigaki manage to escape, however. Itachi uses his Amaterasu to burn through the stomach.
Katon: Gamayu Endan (Fire Release: Toad Oil Flame Bullet)
Gamabunta spits out a large amount of oil, which is then ignited by the user. Jiraiya uses Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique to ignite the oil while Naruto uses an exploding tag since he doesn't know any fire techniques. The sheer amount of oil Gamabunta is capable of spitting allows this jutsu to reach further and cover a much larger area than any other fire jutsu.
